CERAMICS

The inspiration for my ceramic forms is derived fromnature in the form of the lotus leaf or the African carved calabashes, enhancedby a palette of glazes of rich creams, earthy browns and black giving way tocorals and sea greens. The shardplates and torn forms are made to use, bowls for leaf salads, and washbasinsresembling sculptures. Often theunique pieces are engraved with geometric designs then gilded, adding lustreand another dimension to the matt blacks or creams and high shine glazesjuxtaposed on to the same surface the piece takes on a life of its own.
